How Mekora works

1. Create your account

Sign up with email or with Google, Microsoft or Apple. Mekora is strictly for adults, so you confirm you are 18 or older. Email sign-ups confirm their address before taking part.

2. Build your profile

Add your name, age, gender and a short bio. You can also say what you're looking for — dating, friendship or open to both. That answer is shown on your profile as context; it never hides you from anyone. Optional prompts such as "My perfect Saturday…" help people see your personality before your photos do all the talking.

3. Add at least two photos of yourself

Every member needs at least two clear photos of themselves before appearing in Discover, liking, or messaging. You can add, replace, remove and reorder photos at any time. Our photo policy explains what's allowed.

4. Tell Mekora who you want to meet

Under "I'm interested in" choose Women, Men or Everyone, then set an age range and maximum distance. These are real filters applied on our servers: you only see people who fit them, and only people whose own preferences include you. Mekora never guesses your preference from your gender. Distance is approximate — your exact location is never shown.

5. Discover, like and match

Swipe through one deck of profiles. Tap the heart (or swipe right) to like, or pass. When two people like each other, they become a Connection. You can also send a connection request, which the other person can accept or decline. Liking someone twice never sends two likes.

6. Chat, call, and meet when you're ready

Connections can message, send photos, and start voice or video calls inside Mekora — handy for a quick check before meeting, without handing over your phone number. If you remove a connection, your chat history is kept unless you choose to delete it.

7. Optional identity verification

You can verify with a government-issued ID and a live selfie to earn a verified badge. It's optional, never a condition of using any feature, and the badge only appears after a successful check. See the verification policy.

8. Safety tools on every screen

Block anyone instantly — they disappear from your Discover, requests and chats. Report a profile or message and it reaches the Mekora team for review. Accounts that break our Community Guidelines can be suspended or banned. Read more in the Safety Center.
