Photo Requirement Policy
Last updated · September 14, 2026
Every member must upload at least one clear photo of themselves before they can fully participate on Mekora. This helps build trust, reduce fake accounts, and create a safer dating experience.
1. Minimum photo requirement
Every user must upload and maintain at least one approved profile photo.
Until this requirement is completed, the user:
- Will not appear in Discover.
- Cannot send new friend requests or likes.
- Cannot create new matches.
- Cannot post videos to Vibes.
- May have limited access to other social features.
Users can still access their account, Settings, Safety Centre, Help, and account-deletion options.
2. What makes a profile eligible for Discover
A profile appears in other members' Discover feeds when all of the following are true:
- The member is 18 or older and has finished setting up their account.
- The profile has a gender set and at least one preference for who they'd like to meet.
- The profile has at least one approved photo.
- The account is active — not suspended, banned, deactivated, or deleted.
- The profile is visible — not set to hidden or incognito.
Whether a specific member sees that profile then depends on their own Discovery Preferences — the genders they want to meet, and any age or distance limits they have chosen — plus safety rules: profiles a member has blocked, or that have blocked them, never appear.
Passing on a profile does not remove it permanently. Discover is a continuous loop, so eligible profiles can appear again in later rounds.
3. Photo standards
Profile photos must:
- Clearly show the account owner.
- Show the user's face in at least one photo.
- Be recent and accurately represent the user.
- Have sufficient lighting and image quality.
- Be uploaded with the permission of everyone shown.
- Follow Mekora's Community Guidelines.
The primary profile photo should clearly show the user's face. Group photos may be used as additional photos, but it must be clear which person owns the profile.
4. Photos that are not allowed
Mekora may reject or remove photos containing:
- Nudity, sexual activity, or sexually explicit content.
- Images focused mainly on private body parts.
- Minors presented in an inappropriate or unsafe way.
- Violence, weapons used threateningly, or graphic injuries.
- Hate symbols, harassment, or discriminatory content.
- Illegal drugs or illegal activity.
- Another person presented as the account owner.
- Celebrities, fictional characters, stock images, or internet photos.
- AI-generated or heavily altered images that misrepresent the user.
- Contact information, advertisements, QR codes, or promotional material.
- Images that are extremely blurry, dark, obstructed, or impossible to review.
5. Photo review
Photos may be checked using automated systems and, when necessary, reviewed by authorized Mekora moderators.
Uploading a photo does not guarantee its approval. Mekora may reject, hide, or remove any image that violates this policy or creates a safety concern.
When practical, users will be told why a photo was rejected and allowed to upload a replacement.
6. Losing access after photo removal
If a user deletes a required photo or a photo is removed, leaving no approved photos, their account may become restricted again.
The user will regain access to restricted features after uploading an approved replacement photo.
7. Authenticity and misrepresentation
Users must not impersonate another person or use misleading photos. Filters and basic photo adjustments are allowed, but they must not significantly change the user's identity or appearance.
Repeated use of stolen, deceptive, or prohibited photos may result in:
- Photo removal.
- Temporary feature restrictions.
- Account suspension.
- Permanent removal from Mekora.
8. Photo requirement and verification
Meeting the photo requirement does not mean that a user's identity has been verified.
Photo completion and Mekora's blue verification badge are separate features. A blue badge is awarded only after the user successfully completes Mekora's verification process.
9. Reporting and appeals
Users can report profiles or photos they believe violate this policy.
If a photo is rejected or removed by mistake, the affected user may request another review through Mekora Support. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the photo will be restored.
10. Privacy and photo use
Profile photos may be visible to other Mekora users according to the user's privacy and discovery settings. Photos are only ever shown to signed-in members.
Mekora processes uploaded photos to operate the platform, review content, prevent fraud, and protect users. More information about how photos and personal information are handled is available in Mekora's Privacy Policy.
11. Policy enforcement
Mekora may take reasonable action when this policy is violated. Enforcement decisions may consider the content involved, its severity, the user's history, and any risk to the community.
Mekora may update this policy as its safety features and services develop. Significant changes will be communicated where required.
Questions about this policy can be sent to support@mekoradating.com.
